Max II Windshield

I would like to install a marine type windshield wiper on my Max II . It is a manual wiper with a handle to operate it from inside. Ideally it would go through the windshield frame at the bottom just above the windshield hinge. The frame is about 1 inch high. Does anyone know if the glass of the windshield goes clear to the bottom of the frame or is it spaced up on shims or spacers.I need about a 3/8 inch hole.I doubt very much that it goes to the bottom of the frame but don't want to drill unless I know for sure.If anyone ever saw the glass out of the frame they would know. Anyone with any experience in this area?

The factory MAX II windshield is tempered glass so try not to chip the edge or it will shatter. The glass goes into the frame about 1/2 inch with just the rubber seal around it. The frame has room for the endsof the poprivets but not much more. The frame on a 1997 can be pulled apart with the small screws in the lower corners. have to lube the glass and seal to get back together. good luck

Thanks msfi65 It would appear that there is enough room for the wiper but damn its close.Appreciate the advice.

You could pull the windshield and mount it on a piece os square aluminum tube. wouldnt have to move braces much.
