  • First time run....had a blast!!!!

FINALLY! got the max out on in the trails for the first time since ive owned it for 3 weeks! went to my friends property and we had an absolute blast! he took his 500 polaris and I followed, he laughed at how slow i was compared to him, but stopped laughing after he saw me crawling over stuff he couldnt and mowing down trees! With this being my first time, i was skeptical on what i could do and what i couldnt, but after some time, i started getting used to it. After we went back and got a case a beer, we tackled the creek, he said "follow me"...that worked for about 5 mins...he got stuck so I spun and threw mud at him hahaha! after that he parked the polaris and off we went! I put this thing in the river last weekend at a dockless marina, so I knew how it felt to float, knowing this I kept scaring him, there was a part that was about 6 foot deep, i ran into it full blast....he about jumped out! It was so much fun! we rode for about 5 hours, until dark...now im shopping for headlight upgrades, cause the stock ones arent cutting it. Only got stuck once in river sand, but was able to rock it out with out a strap. With this being my first time, I am very happy with its capabilities, once i really learn how to ride it, nothing will stand in my way! And the best part, with riding for 5 hours, the engine ran without a hitch! im in love!

If he thinks you were too slow following him.....try it thru the woods. He won't be able to keep up with you dodging trees. Remember you have a zero turn radius, he will have to stop and back up in spots or take a different route.

Yea we were mostly in the woods, but with the amount of huge hills and my lack of experience, he was leading me quite a bit, but by the end of the day he was following me once i dropped him off at his quad...i let him take over the lead tho...his headlights were better than mine lol

If speed is a priority, then a quad is the answer.(Or Whipper/Bridget springer). But most of us are after going anywhere! 6x6,8x8 is the answer(or Whipper/Bridget springer) Congrats on your Max! Glad you got it running good and having a blast on it!

that thing sure is bouncy though, im used to it now, but man there at first I was going to look into how to home-fab a springer kit haha, I put a case of beer in the back next to the engine cover...quickly realized it'd be better to put on the rack of his quad

You might have to much air in the tires. Depending on your rims 2psi or less is not uncommon. But technically you don't use psi for a measurement. You need to measure the circumference of the tires and match it up that way. Some will take more, some less. Same brand tires dont even measure up the same. Thats why it is suggested to buy them in sets of 6 hoping they where all manufactured at the same time. In the end they are all bouncy though. Just a matter of how much, lol.

Your description of your first time run was a fun read. When you get these machines running good, the smiles never stop.

interesting you mention air pressure. I forgot to check my pressure before I left, when I got back I kicked each tire to make sure I didnt blow one with how much I was rubbing them on rocks and trees...front two and back two are fine....middle two, both didnt even register on my air gauge (and yes its an atv gauge) dont know if this happened while I was out or if its been that way, cant tell obviously by looking at them. Tomorrow after work i plan on going all through it--grease/retension chains, and clean out. He had a pond that was frozen over and I managed to get seaweed wrapped around my axels, so I gota jack it up and take off the wheels, when i do that im over inflating them all and spraying them with soapy water to see if i have a leaky bead or bad valvecore
