  • Found a good lamp upgrade! Thoughts?

I have been looking around for the past week trying to find a way to upgrade the pathetic lights my max has on it. mine are the 4 inch GE sealed lamps....horrible! Found this website, check it out and let me know what you think. If I got these, I would just have to try to figure out how to make them stay in the light pockets, or If I could somehow or another make the grommets fit. check it out and let me know what you think

    hi ,
Remember u will need a bigger charging system for the battery if the lights are used for an extended period .Over drawing on the original charge system may damage it .eg drawing greater than 16 amps in most cases
There are what is commonly reffered to as LED light bars 4x4 guys use these ,although a little pricey . The biggest advantage is there broad spread of white light and a real bonus is u can pick a unit with reasonable current draw .
Fitting higher wattage to original inserts can lead to in the worst case melting of the rubber .
Another solution is a suction cup mounted spot light connectected via a 12v socket

I guess I should have specified, lol im def not going to be running a 100 watt bulb in there, Im just going to buy the casing so I can have interchangeable bulbs. I bought some bulbs for my old golfcart that were LED but in a halogen formed socket...like these: 2 x H3 26 SMD LED XENON WHITE BULB FOG LIGHT LAMPS NEW | eBay

        Check this out...

The KC Hilight lenses fit nice in my Max...

I have similar LED's like the ones you got on eBay. They were bright, but I don't think they would be much of an upgrade over your stock halogens.

I wish I could fit those, but mine is a max II, and im pretty limited with the sizing. I want to do something like you did, to fit in the original locations. I think the ones I listed above would work, but to get them mounted and sealed are a whole nother thing
