A winch you can get almost anywhere, even wall-mart carries them now.
For a Max IV try Country ATV, I highly recommend their design.
For a Max II, Richard's Relics has a pretty basic mount.

LOTS of places.
Ebay is great for winches, and winch mounts can be made easy enough. What model Max do you have and where do you ride?
Cheaper winches have permanent magnets that when overheated make the winch weak or junk. Warn winches are EXPENSIVE. If you need just the occasional short easy pull,
buy a 2000# cheap winch like 2000LB ATV Winch 2000 LB BRAND NEW WATERPROOF KIT RT | eBay I've used them and like them...especially the synthetic rope. If you need a hard long pull, use a snatch block or pull a little and wait a little. A hand on the motor will tell you if it's getting hot.

You are sure right about Richards prices, bought one from them and was disappointed. That is why I went with the County ATV design. MUCH Stronger and it made more sense than cracking the nose of my Max IV.

I'm sorry to hear about that. You're one of many people who have experienced this first hand. The best thing to do is just remember it, try to warn other people about it like I do, and then find a better alternative. That's what's great about 6X6World, we all try to help each other out here and not profit from it, rather we try to promote the hobby so we can get more people up and running in an AATV.

Okay just talked to a guy out there and he said they are currently looking for someone near them that would rent them their MaxII so they can develop accessories for it! Man I wish i wasnt so far away, I would gladly say "here ya go" you borrow it for a month, and out fit it, i'll be back to pick it up hahaha!

Excellent! They are great people to work with. All the accessory stuff on my Max IV was designed and built by them.
Hope someone close by with a MaxII jumps in.
