  • Hello from not so new "new guy" with MAX II and other "problems"

Been on here a little while now to learn and such but haven't posted so thought I might take a moment to say Hey! I have had an early MAX II for 5 years that I have been working on lately. I have done new bearings, chains, new roller tensioners, wheel convertors, rims and 18 hp L head 4 stroke is going in now. I also turned double grooves into the lower transmission plungers with my metal lathe and replaced O-rings as fluid leakage is what stopped the machine in the first place. It took awhile to collect parts on a shoestring budget but I should be running soon as I am down to wiring, fuel lines, tweaking and such. I took out the 400 JLO that sometimes liked to foul plugs. I may have to figure this out for another machine. This machine is nowhere near as cool as some I have seen on here but I hope to have some fun around the farm with the kids. Always have liked these things and my brothers MAX IV and Super Swamp Fox convinced me I needed one of these!

Only "problem" that I have now is that I just have to go pick up a second machine tomorrow. Attex 252 Colt. It is a basket case. Body looks decent but has been outside for awhile. Transmission is in buckets, and no engine. Price was VERY VERY good though at "you load it and its yours" so it comes home tomorrow. Guess I have to collect more parts!! Anyway...Hello all and thanks for the information on the site. Very helpful so far.

More AATVs is ALWAYS a good problem to have! You'll be very happy with that Attex when you're done rebuilding it, and the price certainly is right. Just be warned, your "problem" will become increasingly worse by hanging around with us here on 6X6World.......before you know it you'll have 4 machines, then 5, then a deal will come along and you'll have 6, etc, etc, etc. You get the picture Welcome aboard!
