Removing Max II Sub Axle

Oh you mean the stub shaft that the older Max II axles ride on in the middle of the two inner frame rails.

Hi there, my sub axle in the rear of the max-ll broke. Now what is the best way to remove what is still in place? I'm having trouble removing the cotter pin and I'm thinking I might have trouble sliding it away from the other axle. Thanks for the help.
