I live in FL and a friend and i were out at a mud hole today and his max has no power its very sluggish no lowend at all tires wont even turn in mud or go up hills what should he do? I have a 1996 argo bigfoot and it walks the dog on it but i changed my belt and shortened my gov spring we did the same with his gov spring but never changed the belt. or could it be in his clutch

Check for proper tension on his belt and shim the motor up if it needs to be tightened. If it's his motor that is lacking power under load then perhaps start by looking at the carburetor and seeing if there is any trash in it. Also, this may seem obvious but make sure he is pushing forward hard on his laterals when going up hills or in any terrain that has more than usual resistance.
