I recently bought a 2003 Max II. After coming to the realization that the popping noise is not normal (as the PO swore it was), I learned how to tighten chains and replace a master link. I also learned that throtlle cables will freeze and even the slightest tug on the handle will snap said cable. It has definitely been a learning experience. I plan to use the little Max mostly for hunting, so I would like to add some auxiliary lights and some sort of rack on the back. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Tony I'll look into those. I am thinking two foward and two rear facing lights should be plenty but part of me would like to go all in and have a light off both sides as well. I guess my biggest question is how many lights can I mount and still have the battery charge? Is there a need for dual batteries? Is there an upgrade for the charging system? Again I am very new to ATV's and don't even know for sure what questions to ask.You may all go to Hell, and I will go to Texas -- Davy Crockett

It is very easy to add an alternatr. Just make sure you add a flipper switch.I added a pulley to the fan side of my 18hp Briggs. I can now run anything and I do. I also hunt with the Max ll. I have a heater fan, six lights, power point and biladge pump. This spring I am adding a dome light and radio. I do not worry about power. Oh yes a winch as well. If you have any questions p.m.me.
