Call the guys at Buffalo Bearing. (716) 874-1720. Tell them you're working on a 6 wheeler and that you're from 6X6World and they'll take good care of you. They deal with many 6 wheelers and are very helpful. The axle is a 1.25" so that's the inside bore. Different year Maxes used different sized bearings, so your best bet is to get some calipers on them and measure them to be certain and then give those specs to the guys at Buffalo Bearing and you'll be all set. Good luck with it.

There are several threads with the part numbers. Here is one: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...ng-change.html

If you have the bearing with the 62mm outside diameter (pre '97 Max), the Argo heavy duty bearing will fit. It's more expensive but I don't think you'll find a tougher bearing for an amphib. Most Maxs with splined axles will have the larger 72mm bearing, for which you can only get the same replacement.

Thanks for the replies. I got the bearings out. The outside is an HC206-20 and the inside is an UC206-17. The HC appears to indicate a locking collar and the UC uses 2 set screws.
