My 5.5 year old MAX II's hour meter read 1000 this morning. The vehicle is currently running great but so far I've had to replace:

    - the battery (the original battery lasted just a year)
    - the voltage regulator twice (the second replacement is higher-power)
    - the tires
    - the muffler
    - both clutches (and the belt for good measure)
    - the throttle cable (which I barked when taking out the seat)

Standard maintenance is changing the oil, filters, and lubing and adjusting the chains twice a year around May 1st and November 1st. I'm going to the Spring tune-up this weekend.

Maintance has its rewards. I've had vehicles with 150 hr. that had every bearing and chain worn out. Probably never had a grease gun within 10 feet for years. I would rather run my machines than repair them. Keep up the maintance and ride!

I have collected a few old amphibs with less the 50hrs on the hour meter. Scrambler, amphicats and the trailblazer. I m not sure if the owners had no idea when something went wrong and just parked them or if the hour meters quit working or what. Maybe they just never drove them and let them rot? But thats cool you can get the hours with that little bit of problems. Ill give you a A+ for maintenance!
