  • New Member, wanting to say Hello,,and a ?

Hi Guys,,Just signed up,,to what looks like a great site here,,and wanted to say Hello to all the 6x6'ers here.

I have ATV's,,,, but there's something about the 6x6's,,and going into a pond or what ever,, that looks cool to me,,and have been recently looking into a few Max II's and IV's,,reading on here trying to get the hang of what to look for.

I recently found a 2000 Max II,,with a 400 Rockwell 2 stroke in it,,it has what I think you call "Rimless" Tires" on it too ? Has anybody heard of this engine package in a Max II ? And what about those tires on it?

Any thoughts would be helpful,,,Hello and Thanks to all !,,,,,,Mark

    PS..our ATV's are 2-Red (Twins) Brute force 750, 27" Swamp Fox's, winches, moose modules,,etc, Just sold a Honda 300 4x4 !

    M350,

Welcome to the site. The Max is not a 2000 most likely an older model. (two stroke and balloon tires) The tires it sounds are the one piece balloon tires that have stopped being produced much to the dismay of many people on the board. They are difficult to find and most of the guys who restore older machines hoard them like leprechauns and their pots of gold.

As far as the year goes there will be a info placard with a serial # you can call Recreatives Industries and they can tell you the exact year the machine was built.

If you want something that has all the modern upgrades consider a 99 or newer max. If you go older plan on spending considerable time and $ restoring it. But some masochistic people like me enjoy that too!

Good luck let us know if you get something or find something you want to buy. Pictures help too.

    Mike

Was up at Amphiman1's to pickup a Sur-Trek and he has a Barn, full of the Balloon Tires! And, about anything else you could want.

So those Balloon Type rimless tires are somewhat a collector type item ??
Now as I have looked recently (online) for info on these Max 6x6's,,most I see have a Briggs or Kohler V-twin,,,I was thinking the Rockwell 2-stroke , single cyl, was kinda odd,,for a newer 6X6,,,,but the add says it runs good.

I also found a 98' Max II,,14 hp Briggs,,that looks almost new,,the guy said he is the 2nd owner, and he has had it for 5 yrs,,and just messed around on his lawn with it, with his kids,,he just had a major service done to it,,new belt, fluid, battery, fuel line, all new wires, oil, filter, greased and adjust chains, comes with extra plugs, manual and papers . Sounds like it has never been it the water,,may go check it out soon.
