were do i buy a belt for my max II it has a 14 hp vanguard ...drive belt .....and how do you tell if it is bad?

You can tell by looking at the side of the belt.If it worn it will have a ridge at the top and usually shiny on the side.If you can see the number on the belt most auto parts places or ebay if you know the belt number and maker to cross reference.A max dealer can tell you the belt number and sell you one.I have had a lot of luck with belts at car quest if you have one near.I use to now the belt number but it has been 2 years sense i had a max.sigpic -
Your belt should be flush with the top of the secondary or slightly higher (like 1/16") read this ATV and Snowmobile Belts - by Dayco
The stock belt will be approx 45 1/2" X 1 3/16", Try this one instead Dayco # hp3035, it is 1 1/4" wide and will give better low end performance since it will ride a little higher in the secondary.Comment
