  • Maxx vs. Mule

I have been doing research into a Maxx 6 wheel drive for quite sometime know. I finally came across this site and it is full of great info on these. I am wondering if anyone here has switched from a Kawasaki Mule to a Maxx. I currently own a Mule but my property has three large ponds. There are trees that constantly fall down in the lakes. Every time this happens I have to get into the rowboat go out and hook a chain up to the tree then row back to land and then hook it up to the Mule. I would also like to do some minor dredging in the ponds as well. Has anyone used theirs for these types of jobs/conditions? Also how is the pulling power of the Maxx compared to the Mule (on land of course)?
    Thanks, Ed

I would say that you would not be disappointed by switching from a mule to the Max. I don't think that would have any problems swimming the max out to the trees and then getting them out of the water. If you are still wanting a bed like you have on the mule, you might want to lean toward the Max Buffalo Truck. As far as the dredging, without knowing what kind of dredging you are planning on doing, I can't tell you if it will or will not work. All of the dredging that I have been involved in has either involved a dragline or long reach trackhoe. As far as the pulling power, I would be willing to bet that the max would do better that the mule.

If you are going to be pulling trees, wouldn't you be better off with the low range gear availability of the Argos?

The Maxx will work fine for getting to the tree in the water,,and chaining it,,,but they,,amphibs do not pull well in the water,,,get to land and it a different story! We cleared some brush off and island,,wrapped a strap around it,,hooked it to the the Argo roll cage, on the side,,,did not pull(swim) well,,,if you can hook it up to the center,,maybe the hitch, or centrally located roll bar,,it may do OK,,,regular hitch is underwater when floating,,just what we have experienced.

          Rhino vs Argo

I had a Rhino and I thought it was great. But then I had medicinal problems and lost mine right foot, so out with the Rhino and in with the Argo. The Argo is great it will out pull the Rhino. As for trees in the lake, run the Max or Argo out to the trees hook a rope or cable to it. Then get back on land, hook it up to the Max or Argo and pull them out. Iam here to say you can't go wrong with a Max or a Argo. I love my Argo, you could't give me a Rhino or a Mule. Just mine 2 cent Cougar
