  • Low Speed Squeal

I have been enjoying my max II, for over a year. The last time out it started making a loud sqealing noise at low speeds and when coming to a stop. I cant seem to find a bad bearing or anything that wasnt lubed. Any ideas of where this noise is coming from would be appreciated.

Here is my shot in the dark. Does your belt need replaced? Low speed is when a warn belt makes noise. I would try your backup belt. If you don't have one, its a good idea to get one just in case it breaks on a ride. All the max's have a spot to carry an extra on board for such situations. Belt conditioner may quite things down too but would probably only be a temporary fix.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

Thanks for the input, I will try to get it on blocks this saturday and try the bearings. The belt was new last fall and may have 6 to 8 hours on it, would it wear that fast?

If you have the axles with the brass bushings it could be one of those. One of my maxll had the same problem and it ended up being the front axle bushings.

I found my noise today, after trying to get the max to make the noise again for 2 days. the right rear axle bearing fell apart. Now its time to replace all the bearings. thanks for all your input.
