  • took a dip in the water today...

So we took the max ll out on the water for the first time today. Ran pretty good bit found some slightly leaking axle seals and near the end the water inside from when my dad almost rolled it got deep enough to flood the carb with water just as the front wheel touched shore after the 3rd dip in the pond pulled it up on shore with our truck and pulled the drain plugs and she cranked up good. The electric fuel pump is great!!! Will post vids when I'm somewhere with better internet. Have to say I was doubtful in the beginning but I'm startin to like this thing
Heres the video, sorry for my bad commentary, had no reverse in the video and thought it was gonna sink at first. By the way thats my dad driving.

How do you know that the water was coming in the axle seals(thru the bearings)? The water most likely came in through the seal at the body halves (foam seal between upper and lower tub).
I did the same thing once.....only I had it in the pond and I had forgotten the drain plugs. It took several minutes to see the water in the bottom and I had plenty of time to get out of the water before anything bad happened. So unless your bearings are real bad, it shouldn't leak that much.

Moral of the story......buy a bilge pump, and go have fun.

There was water coming out of both middle wheel seals and the left rear seal on the bearing even after we filled them with red grease.

Sounds like you have some bearings to replace.....Bummer.
The good news is, they are not expensive or hard to do.
