  • left side jackshaft chain loose/right side tight

    Folks,

My machine only has a few hours on it and I noticed that the left side short jackshaft chain has a lot of slack, while the right side has about 1/2 inch.

The jackshaft is perfectly level right now. Can I compensate and adjust the left and throw it off from being level. These chains have not been adjusted since new so I assume it left the factory like this

When you say left and right side chain are you talking about the two chains on the same jackshaft or the right and left jackshafts? The right and left jackshafts on the Max II are completely separate so adjusting one and not the other is not a problem. If you were asking about two chains on the same jackshaft, that's not an issue either since one chain is tightened by moving the jackshaft forward and the other chain is tightened by moving the jackshaft up. This allows you to adjust either chain as needed and still keep the jackshaft parallel. Take a look in our how-to section. There is a video that explains how to adjust the chains on your Max II and it should give you a better visual reference: How to adjust the jackshafts on your Max II

      Thanks Mike,

I am referring to the left side of the machine and the right side of the machine small horizontal chains. thanks for the excellent info, I will adjust it up a few cranks now to take out the slack
