The video of the Mudd Ox with the 20 " tracks was VERY impressive ! I was really surprized that the Mudd Ox would swim across a still pond that well , with track lugs that small. I would have thought that to move across the water that well , the track lugs would have to be closer to the design of the Escargo tracks?
" Notice the pattern on the tracks.. looks like runamuk/frontier tread."
Roger ,
I talked to Matt on the phone today , and he told me the highest spot of the tread was about one inch tall. Matt also told me that they had reversed the tread pattern of the tracks , and they now swim even better in the water.

It was swimming pretty well with them on forwards, or backwards. Excellent though when you add that it was pulling a trailer! Now I've got to see what it does with them on forwards (Backwards, whatever).

I sure wish we had a video camera today!!! It has been pretty cold the last few days. My pond had just over a solid inch of ice on it. I took the mudd-Ox with the 20" tracks turned around from the way we first ran them. We were flying into the pond, breaking ice, throwing water and having a blast!!! After some ice breaking the Mudd-Ox with the tracks swim even better than the video with them in the forward or (tractor) direction. I would say it was twice as fast... When the pond frezzes back over I will get a video of the action.
Matt, that is a seriously bad machine. Kudos to you for the R&D+build quality.
BTW, I posted a link to your new website on a very active duck hunting forum. The post degenerated into the usual quad vs. amphib discussion among a group of quad riders...but maybe it planted a few seeds??
