Thanks to a quick Tip from JPSwift, an easy to deal with seller, and an awesome shipper, I FINALLY have added a Tom-Cat to the collection. It showed up at my work today and came home this evening. Machine is in awesome original condition. about 10 minutes of tinkering tonight and it fired right up. chains all popped badly on the first test drive and need adjustment, but otherwise everything seems to work. the machine has all marine grade stainless hardware and chrome abound! Included was an original sales brochure and owners manual which will be sent to Mike to get scanned and added to the site.

Thanks for the kind words guys, Machine is in incredible shape. there are a few cracks in the gel-coat, and a tiny bit of pitting on some of the chrome, but otherwise awesome. I suspect that the tires are original and show no wear. T'20 is in need of what I suspect is it's first adjustment. Chains and bearings are all new. Last owner got it out of a barn where it was stored for 30 years. said the chains and bearings were rusty so he replaced them.... he sent the old ones with it, and I would have used all of them!
plans??? not sure, I want to beef it up a bit, and go to real tires. I would like it to be a reliable trail machine, but want to do it without taking anything away from the originality of the machine. Doubt a briggs will fit, but I'm gonna try. If not I have a yamaha golf kart engine that Al Hodge has done evil things to... I will probably just tinker with it for a while till i figure out what route to take.Originally posted by jpswift1 View PostLooks great, Brian! Is it as clean as it looks in person as it does in the pics? She's a beauty......what are the plans for this one?
It looks like a ton of spacing, but the tires are pretty small (63" balloons). I haven't measured yet to see what it will take. I have some 21" chevrons I would like to try under there once I build adapters. Mt bigfoot is a short tub, so height becomes a factor at about the same time as axle spacing. Height sure looks like it will be the limiting factor on this one too.Originally posted by brushcutter View PostNice! Really clean looking. Does it have as much space between the axles as it appears to, or is that just camera angle? Imagine the tires you could put on your bigfoot with that kind of space.A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

It is exactly as I got it! I haven't even wiped it down yet. I have my suspicions as to why it's so nice and has so little use. I plan to put in a call to the company who made it on Monday... yep, still in business!Originally posted by George View PostThat's one of the newest looking old machine I've ever seen!
Did you get it that way or just apply tons of elbow grease?Last edited by racerone3; 09-08-2012, 06:28 AM.A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
