Now that looks like fun. Thanks for posting a video of it in action.
The Trailblazer was a fun mechanical project. I was lucky to get the help from other forum members to make it all come together. The way the Hagen works and steers is really pretty cool. It goes from forward to reverse so fast and easy its sort of crazy. I plan to bring it home and run around the house with it to get used to how it turns a little more. It works so good that it goes from skid steering to counter rotating in the blink of an eye. I think I could play with this all day in the snow.

Nice video, great job getting that machine put together. I love to see the mechanical ingenuity people have (both yours in the rebuild and the original creators of that transmission).

Thanks Nick. It was very interesting to discover the history of the Trailblazer and how the Hagen transmission was designed to fit and operate. The steering cylinders t!hat actuate the clutch packs in the transmission are very unique and clever. They are actually contoured inside and not a straight cylinder. This sort of allows the transition from forward to reverse to be very smooth. Having them really makes the package complete. I was really excited when it all came together and actually worked.

Took the Trailblazer for a "spin" literally. Here is a video of it counter rotating so fast it made me dizzy. It would go even faster but it starts to make you feel like you are going to fly out. I was a little slow on the return but got myself back together.
The camera shakes a little on my way back as Jason laughs because he knows I am dizzy and trying to get my head straight again. It would spin even faster if I could bring myself to give it more gas but you start to have a hard time holding on and feel like you are going to fly out even though you are actually sitting pretty low in the machine. The Trailblazer is like the perfect fun machine for open hard pack snow and ice. I will try to get one more video before it all melts.

What fluid do you use inside it? I've tried to find this out for years now and not able to. I've been using ATF in mine, and I'm thinking of Universal tractor hydraulic fluid, however based on the fact it is a wet clutch similar to a auto trans or even a posi in a differential, I'm still leaning towards a quality synthetic ATF.
I've gotten mine almost completed and resetup again 3rd time now as I needed to seal some worn O rings etc.
Nice project ya got there too BTW, looks neat and I like how the covers drop in and protect you from the chains and so forth.

Went to look at the Mobilera Trailblazer I committed to buy sight unseen 6 weeks ago. No photos yet because it's buried in snow. The little that I could see is in rough shape. Kind of purple in color. Hoping to pick it up in the next month after the snow melts. Definitely going to need some help from everyone. Supposed to be complete and original, but the motor cover may be missing.
Hi Larry. I found your posting and wanted to ask if you had any hagen annular piston controls. Or if you know where I can get one, mine have one of the o-ring grooves broke. Thank you.
