  • My first 6x6 trail boss questions

I just bought a trail boss last week and i know they have a kohler 309cc single cylinder 2stroke. Does anyone know what they called the model of that motor and what carb they had on them. I havent had the body off the Tboss yet to figure it out for myself. Any help is greatly appreciated. It does run and ive been driving it around my property. Its just a little bogey so im gonna clean the fuel system out. Transmissions seem to be fine. Its just a little tiring on the arms. I bought it mainly for ice fishing. I just ordered a golf cart enclosure that will be here by this weekend. I plan on making an angle iron frame to slip it over the top to keep me warm.
These things are awesome. Now i want an argo or a max.

It's a Kohler K-309. This same engine was used in some other 6 wheelers like the very first Hustlers and Kadoos. They had Tillotson carburetors on them, but they're aren't very reliable at all, so it would be best to swap it over to a Mikuni.

Click the link that Bazoo guy posted. It says it in there somewhere.

Its listed as a Tillotson HR
I am running one on the rotax in my Bazooo and I think it works great.
Eliminates the need for a fuel pump and will work at any angle even upside down.
Make sure you have an inline filter before the carb and a fuel return line back to the tank.
Rebuild kits are cheap and easy to install.

Keep your eyes out for a B&S V-Twin. Mine has one (16hp), and it runs great! It fits in the tub with no problem, and runs clean and quiet. I have been warned out making sure it has plenty of air. It looks like the original cooling tin can be used (that's my plan at this point)

              Have fun!

I got it all tuned in now. The PO had the high speed needle 51/2 turns out. This thing is fast as hell now. On the scarey side actually. Thanks for all the help guys
