  • Video of Trackster ride...

I built a camera mount for the Trackster using a Ram Mount, this is just a vid of a ride up into my back field to see how it works. Hard to tell, but the ditches are deep. and the hill I go up and down is very steep. Just thought I'd share...

Great video. You can really hear those hydrolics working in the video.

Coop: Nice job on the video and mount. I'd love to see a video walk-around of your machine as well. The Tracksters are very unique machines and very advanced even by today's standards.

Thanks Coop. Thats one heck of a machine you have there. I really like the shaft drive to the hydraulic system, nice and heavy duty and no belts to deal with. I also like the fact that the engine cooling fan is right there in the open and it doesn't have to have intake shrouding just to channel cool air. I also like the breather assembly mounted high for easy access and fresh/cool air to come straight to the intake. I also think the rhomboid shaped track system is the most effective out there. Add the suspension system in as well and it all makes for an advanced machine. Thanks for taking the time to post these clips. I've learned a few things more about Tracksters today.

                  Thanks for the replies guys...
Noel...that driveshaft is not the original setup, I built that when I put the Vanguard engine in. The original shaft is a funky 2piece unit with stainless steel flex discs at each end, a real pita to get and keep in alignment. I've been using this machine for 3 years, no issues with it, very reliable.

The driveshaft and u joint set up was a great idea. That should last for the life of the machine.

Either you were riding over some really smooth ground or your camera mount worked fantastic! The hill you climbed looked really steep but the machine seemed to have no tipping issues, which is a relief to me. Also, does that machine ride as smooth as it seems(very impressed) or does your camera mount just work that well?

Thanks for posting the WAVs... after our discussion about the drive shaft, and it's advantage over the flex plates and now that I've seen how it allows your steering linkages to be kept straight, I'll definitely be doing that with mine. Thanks again for posting these!

The Trackster rides smoother than the COOT, not what I'd call a cushy ride, but not bad for what it is. The camera mount is a RAM mount that I attached to the windshield frame mount. The camera is my Sony FP828 in video mode. I just got a GOPRO camera for Christmas, I haven't had a chance to try that out on there yet, but I will, we are supposed to be getting 12-18 inches of snow tonight thru tomorrow, will be a good excuse to try it. And yes, that hill is very steep, hard to walk up without something to grab on to.
