Very, very cool, that machine was way ahead of it's time but even with a big engine there seems to be some power and Hydraulic issues that keep that machine from having the grunt it would need for climbing and serious mud. It had quite a bit of difficulty going over even a small mound of snow.
As much as I like this machine I see several short comings and would prefer newer updated Russian machine a lot more

Or, for $34k you can buy one of these, no power issues, I've driven one.http://www.terratrack.com/movie.html The guy who built the Geo powered one did an outstanding job on his build, I suspect he patterened it from the Terra Track, looks like he bought the ROPS from them. I have an extra Trackster that I plan on doing this to someday, to many projects, so little time...

I watched that again after reading this comment. I don't think the machine was having trouble, maybe the driver. It sounded like he stopped and ran the motor rpm up instead of pushing the t-handle. It probably takes a little getting used to and it looks (by the condition of the machine) like that was an early test run.Originally posted by mightymaxIV View PostVery, very cool, that machine was way ahead of it's time but even with a big engine there seems to be some power and Hydraulic issues that keep that machine from having the grunt it would need for climbing and serious mud. I don't think he was having an issue due to lack of power, he is probably running that machine without a governor set-up, so keeping his RPM's constant might be hard to do. I also think he was sliding on the branch that was under the snow, lost traction momentarly. Shouldn't be any lack of power with 50+ hp to use...
