The steering is pretty simple really. The front is a rack and pinion directly off the steering wheel, then there is a linkage from the left side steering spindle going back into the body where the linkage connects to a bell crank that has another linkage attached to it, that linkage goes thru the body articulating joint, to the rear of the back tub, where it attaches to another bell crank that has 2 linkages going to the left and right spindles. It is a push-pull system, works good because it is so simple. When I get home, I can take some pics of mine and post them for you if you are interested.

Great "how it works" video Coop! You weren't kidding when you said that the steering is pretty simple. Are there seals of any kind for the areas where the linkages exit the tub, or are they far enough above the waterline to not be an issue?DESTRUCTION is just a couple of vowels down the street from DISTRACTION

I think that's what makes a COOT cool, built simple and rugged.
brushcutter...I've never had water come in at the steering linkage holes. I have seen a picture somewhere of a rubber bellows that was installed over the linkage and attached to the tub, I don't know it that was an original piece, or something somebody came up with, good idea though. I've thought about searching at a junk yard for something that would work, maybe a bellows off an older VW Bug handbrake assembly, something like that. But when it is floating, the water line is 4-6" below that opening.
