Just got a Model 1100 Scrambler ,69 or 70 , not sure of age. It is mostly complete except no engine and drive clutch . I think it was 8hp Kohler . It has original driven clutch which I think is OK. I would like to install an engine that is similar to original and get a drive clutch that is proper for the original drive train. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Depending on the model I would probably install a 13hp Honda or clone. 1" drive clutches are available. The belt may be available from a golf cart supply.

I have a 10hp kohler motor that might work for ya. It runs very strong and was only used in a home made generator. So its had pretty light use. Always start with the. first turn over and has never had a problem whatsoever. I've had it kicking around forever. I was going to do something with it but I just don't think I ever will. Id let it go for pretty cheap if you would want it. I'm sure it would bolt right in but u would have to look at it to make sure.

It is a model 1100 .I'm pretty sure the original motor was 8hp Kohler . As far as the clutch is concerned , I see that there are ratings on the clutches such as min. and max. RPMs and diameters, which do you think is best for the engine you recommend ? Thanks again , Jim

I live in upstate NY near Watkins Glen so it would be a LONG trip in take a look. Altho I'm sure it would be a real enjoyable one. Thanks for the thought anyhow , Jim
