  • Scrambler Questions

I have a Scrambler that I am working on getting running for summer. First, it is a twin stick? Most of the Scramblers that I have seen online have steering wheels. So does that make it a rare model? Second, I need help on the lines. They are cracked/broken in places. Where can I get replacement lines and fittings.

A little more info on it. It is red and white kind of looks like a lady bug. The fiberglass is in good shape. It still has the rear seat cover. It has reverse that works great. it had a 14 solid state Tecumseh engine that was shot, so I am replacing it with a 11hp clone motor that I have. I have already welded in a steel plate to remount the new engine. I should taken pics of it before I tore it apart.

Sticks were an option as well as reverse. The tubing can be replaced with 3/16" nylon brake line tubing for go karts.

I found more problems today. The right side stick master cylinder is locked solid. Every time I move a line it breaks. NAPA says that I can but 100 foot roll for fifty dollars. I am going to the tractor supply to see if they sell smaller rolls. Also what is the easiest way to bleed the lines. I have a pressurized spray canister that I can run brake fluid thru? Will that work?

The only line that didn't break was the one that someone replaced with copper tubing.

If the master is above the caliper open the bleeder and gravity should do it.
If you use the pressure canister i would pump it into the caliper
with the cover off the master to bleed the air.

Just to let you know , In case you need the piston seals for your steering and brake cylinders , I got them from o-rings .com . You will have to identify them by I.D. and O.D. sizes but they have them all. What type of reverse do you have , is it the starter motor ring gear type ? I want to put reverse in my Scrambler and am trying to learn about them . Take care ,jtw

Thanks for the reply on the starter . I'll do some research to see if I can get an idea on mounting one in my machine. And Regards from Alpine ,N.Y.
