  • amphicat rebuild

I have recently purchased an amphicat that I plan on rebuilding. I will have lots of questions as i go along and hope I can use everyone's experience here for help. A little about the amphicat: it is a model 0079 and has the sachs engine and the "plunger" style transmission with the loop for reverse. Can anyone give me some information on this model. Also the sachs engine has an MIC carb on it? Should it be a tillman? If so which one?
    Thanks,
    Steve

I think that you will have a lot of fun with your rebuild. I built a 1970 cat. The mistake I made, not opening the transmission first. I put big bucks in a machine to find out that the band material had fallen off all four bands. The trany is very simple to take apart. This should be the first thing checked out. In my opinion.
