  • coot dimensions needed.

Anyone know the length and width of a coot? Member mustangwagz has located one and wants me to pick it up. I have a small trailer and don't want to go drive out there and have it not fit. A max iv can only be pulled onto my trailer so if its any longer its no good.

Yep, mine is 7"7" long, and has Super Terra Tires (really big) the width with those tires is 6'5.25", if it has the standard tires the width would be 5'4". Weight will be around 1200 pounds.
My Coot is longer than my Max4. I have an 8' long small trailer that it fits in perfectly.

mustangwagz: here's the new website for Cootworld: http://cootworld.freeforums.org/ I learned alot in no time flat from the site, lots of good info and sources are available there.

      Thanks Noel Woods,

I thought they looked a little larger than a typical 6 wheeler. That weight is at the very top of the limit for my poor little element to tow. I really need a bigger SUV and trailer.

Ok, so I tend to overload the trailer occasionally. However, on that particular occasion, we were pulling it with Jpswift's truck, not my wife's poor little Honda.

The limits were certainly pushed when Newt The Bold was picked up. The guys that I was buying it from said to us, "You're going to fit it on there?!" We nonchalantly replied, "yup". And it made it home perfectly fine. Drew's little 5x8 trailer had some big machines on it and it hauled them right down the road with a smile, but his tow rig (the Honda Element) will certainly let you know that there's a load back there.

You know, I think I can build this thing too. Been doing some backwards engineering on mine. Got some ideas that I may run with.
I've got another project on the front burner, nearing conclusion. I'm using most of my free time prepping that machine which will make an appearance next month at the Mud Nationals.
Forum member Coop is up in N.Y. and he's got an interesting Coot and some great ideas. You ought to touch base with him.

The Coot is a very interesting machine, very stable, kinda like an old M38A1 Jeep, built tough, geared low, bulletproof.

Wagz....Hoping you get it, you'll love it , they are a great machine, built simple and rugged, great combination. I'm finding mine to be a very useful machine to get around the woods and fields with. Be sure to put pics up when you get it home...

Somebody get some meds over the 'Wagz; it looks like he's having a Coot-fit!

Post some pictures of it as soon as you get it. I'd love to find a nice 4 wheel steer unit some day...
