Here is a 6x6 aatv that has a hydraulic powered water propulsion system using dual bronze props. It can be augmented with tracks. If I was spending big money, I would consider this one. Hard to get past the diamond plate aluminum look though. Watch all the videos.

Thats an impressive 6x6 amphib . I really liked the two hydrolic props that are recessed into the rear of the lower tub . This is a great idea . I also noticed they put Mudbug tires on it . Those tires mud very well and shead mud easily too .

I like it a lot......it looks like it might even have a flux capacitor!

Seriously though, I like the looks of it, I guess weight would be a downside. Looks very sturdy.

I would imagine this would be a heavy 6x6 amphib , by the looks of it . I think this machine will be used by search and rescue , in water and swampy , muddy , open terrain . The angle of approach is very bad on this machine . It does seem to be well made though . The water propulsion system they have is great . I like the way its shielded and protected from the elements .

That's the frustrating thing about well-made, prototype machines like this. Great ideas and sturdy construction, but the price tag it carries is the extra weight, which increases your exerted psi....

Does anyone know the process for creating the HDPE bodies?? I remember someone saying it would be cost prohibitive for Max to change theirs. Does that mean it is involved/expensive? HDPE is pretty amazing stuff when you think about it...

            boncrshr ,

Yes ,, the weight of this diamond plate , alluminum 6x6 , would greatly increase its psi on the ground . This is not a good thing on an amphibious vehicle .

Matt Oxender , who has the Mud Ox 8x8 , would be the man to ask about the price it would cost to have an HDPE , upper and lower body made , for an amphib .

Looks like the video isn't working anymore. They just used an aluminum mold and pressed it down into a heated stretched sheet of HDPE then let it cool for a bit and popped the plastic off the mold. I would think you would only have to change the mold.

That may not be as heavy as it looks

Looks like they used Aluminum so it may be surprisingly light but still strong and ready for battle !

It weighs 2500 lbs dry But, that is the first 6x6 I've seen that had a wake in the water

The only thing I really don't like about it is the approach angle.

The dry weight of the basic unit is 2500 lbs. Pretty heavy for my needs and wants. The web site has a full spec sheet.

                          boncrshr ,

You can not watch any video posted on the Stage6 website , unless you have down loaded the DVX player off their website . Mostly all of the video,s on their website , are high def , 1080 p , full screen video,s. I,ve watched the Argo video , " How its made " on their website after I down loaded their DVX , and it looked GREAT !!
