  • Another COOT followed me home...

This COOT was listed on Evilbay 20 miles from me so I went to look at it after work the other night. Well, I made the mistake of taking my trailer with me and it jumped right on and came home with me, I talked the seller into ending the auction early, (there weren't any bids on it yet), and selling it to me. It is a 2 wheel steer, at some point it had a plow on it, still has the plow mounts and hand winch for the plow. It also had a prop on it, but all that is there now is the bearing and rudder plate. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet, other than needing bearings and some seals in the gearboxes, it seems to be in rebuildable shape, the floor will need a couple patches, but not to bad. The seller had some nice aluminum shields made for it, they look pretty sharp. Don't know yet, fix or part, guess I'll put it in the project pile for now. The wife said "why did you buy that"...duh, because it was there?.....

Coop glad you were able to get this coot. I say rebuild it but of course I would its not my money LOL. I have wanted a coot for a couple years now but every time they come up for sale up here in Alaska they are just priced way too high as with everything up here. There are 2 coots for sale up here in AK right now but the guy wont go below $4K for the pair. One runs good no major issues, the other has been partially restored and needs to be put back together. Both have the original 12hp tecumseh's, neither are 4 wheel steer. I have offered him $3K but he wont budge? I also found a AMF Sur Trek up here and am trying to work a deal on it? Good luck with the coot and hope to see it restored.

Matt...Yes, they are a blast, I currently have a 4WS I brought back from the dead and it is one of my favorite and most used machines. I've had a couple 2WS, and I've parted out 6 COOTs, so I have quite a few spare parts laying around. This one is really in to good of shape to part, I'll either save it for a project, or find somebody who wants it more than me.

AK....You had a little something to do with me picking this one up, about the same time you posted it was on E-Bay, another friend of mine e-mailed me about it. So you're both to blame.....

          Coop

Of course! Why would you not buy it is the question, haha. Glad to see another machine in your fleet.
