Hoot with Adair Tracks!

Well I sold both of my Kid 8x8s. Hope the new owners have lots of fun with them from Louisiana 1 went to Wisconsin and the other to New Jersey!!

I invested some of the money into a set of Adair tracks for my Hoot. Utube attached of the first run. Tim and crew at Adair Argo did another fine job!

I had to use 3 inch spacers to clear the fenders and now I get lots of water and mud flung inside so I'm waiting for some belt material to extend the fenders before more water testing. I also trimmed the fenders alittle due to the tracks hitting when flexing.

Now it goes the best ever in mud, but with me being a "big load" and the track weight it feels like it could use some more HP than the 15 Kohler. But I had to tow my sons Honda 4x4 and him about a mile and a half and it did fine, even up some small hills.

I'm looking forward to some more of your videos, that's a pretty unique machine and I really like how compact it is....you would guess that a machine like yours might be the perfect crossover for many of the hard core 4x4 Atv guys looking for the next level of performance... Seems like it would be an easier switch for that market than converting completely over to one of our traditional "boat" like machines...keep posting video of your fun, as it is not only enjoyable for us to watch but I believe also very good for growing our sport.

Tracked Hoot

Thanks, I think my Hoot is just getting about right (with the Adair tracks)! I have over 140 hrs on it and here's the good and the bad.

GOOD - (Great) Goes just about anywhere, I have rescued some of those really big atvs from flooded timber and ponds that were just a little too deep. I may not be able to pull them but I can get to them to jump or pull a line back to hard ground and then pull. It turns on a dime so I VERY seldom have to use reverse to back up and make turns or get around things, it hauls a good amount of STUFF, bottom line it gets me where I need to go with everything I need to have. Also it's pretty straight forward to work on. I can get into tighter areas than Argos, etc but I can't haul as much.

BAD - The Hoot tops out Way slower than some of the atvs, but hey I still get there, the lack of suspension compared to atvs, you know what I mean! I Wish it had a little more HP for my big lard-ass. and, it can't ride 2 in the water! I tried with my 100# lab and we just about sunk, had to make him swim for it! Thank you bilge pump! In fact I might add a 2nd, the rear tends to ride low in the water. It would be nice to have a "Water dam" built up on the rear deck. Hey my next project idea! (Rides 2 fine on land)

Overall - I think it's More fun and gets WAY more looks than any regular atv! Oh yes, if you get one, definitely put in a bilge pump or 2! because you will push the envelope!

Other additions - I added 2 huge computer fans to the dash side of the engine as "pullers" they use less power that the front main fan and I think move as much air and use them most of the time. All are on switches to not drain the battery and when it's really August hot, ok I use all of them, the front pulls air in and the rears pull it out. I'm not really sure if I have ever had an engine overheating issue, maybe some type of temp gauge would be good to track it.

I think that is the first Hoot I've seen with Adairs, or any other track for that matter. NICE, but I want to see it in some mud...
