Well here it is, my first 6x6. I have no idea how long it has sit. The sticker says model 1200 and the serial is barely visible. Any one know a round about year. First im going to get gas lines and hydraulic steering working. My first question is. Is there suppose to be a brake pedal of some sort. I do not see anywhere, where one could have been mounted. I did find where the bottle resevoir for the hydraulic pumps is suppose to go and part of a bottle. so i got to hunt up one of those. Thanks for any and all information and am loving this site and the builds others have done.

The brake hangs from the frame under the nose that supports the steering cylinders. you can make a suitable bottle from a cosmetic or lotion bottle. the brake and steering overflow tube does not need a fitting on the bottle ,just long enough to go to the bottom. The master cylinder are all the same for the brake and steering and have their own small reservoir built in so you can run the machine without the bottle. Its easier to bleed with the bottle. You bleed by pumping ATF into the zerks on the slave cylinders.
You have a late 70's unit with a 12 hp motor. I have an early 70's unit and the motor works very well with the unit.

Thanks jerseybigfoot. Apparently then someone has done removed the brake. Just my luck. I kept wondering why there was a extra hose with brass fitting that was hanging there. What could i use to replace it. Would a brake cyclinder like on the rear brake of a quad work for it ? like the one above. Also what type of ATF and could you send me some pictures of ur brake setup so i can fab something up. Appreciate it.

There is a tab on the end of the Salsbury clutch with some numbers. If I remember right there are 2 large numbers. That should be the year unless the clutch was swapped out.

Scramblers are neat machines. The drawback is there drive unit didn't survive well when parked for decades.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
            Joe Camel never does that.

thanks Larry W. I will definitely have to look on the fins and check that out. Argojim, i hope to have it shined up soon. Have done got it running and the old motor runs very well, Done replaced fuel line. Next im going to remove chains and gears and start shinning it up and replacing bolts.
