  • Anyone know about Otter tracked vehicles

Looking for someone that may know something about a 70's Otter tracked vehicle, most of all what one is worth ? I have attached a picture it is like new.otter.jpg

Like all the other "rare" machines......it IS worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. Without having enough similar unit sales to compare with, there is no other way to determine a value.

    Cool machine though.

Looks like a ranger to me. I see a lot of these up here in Alaska. Maybe someone customized it with the word "Otter"? Or maybe "Ranger" is just part of the name? I have always known these as Rangers.

Okay I see 3 of these for sale here in AK and they are listed as Ranger Otters.

Looks as though it has been taken good care of. Like Jim said though, without some other sales to compare it to, putting a value on it will be between seller and buyer. Is it close enough that you can go and look at/drive it? If so, while you are there here are some things to think about: does it run(how well), are replacement parts readily available, are there any obvious problems loose/missing parts, once you have satisfactory answers to those, then you will know better how much you want to pay versus how much he is asking and an agreeable compromise should be reached. Here is a cool thread on one: Interesting small tracked rig - Forums Forums - Off Topic Forum FUN the link is embedded in a thread which also contains the one you are looking at : Otter, track machine rusting away. - MyTractorForum.com - The Friendliest Tractor Forum and Best Place for Tractor Information

Now that I have found that stuff I want one. Good luck with your decision!
