  • Muscateer

Just picked up a Muscateer and it's my first 6X6- Stumbled onto the site trying to find a little more info on the machine. Runs good and looks like new, just trying to gather some info about these as they seem pretty rare without much info out there...Tried to post a pic but won't load for some reason.

I actually have all the manuals from that link and a couple others came with it actually. Looking for company info, years manufactured, how many made, etc...looks like there are a couple around on this site.

The Muscateers aren't all that rare. There seem to be quite a few of them coming out of the woodwork lately. They were manufactured by Muscat Corporation in Wisconsin. The first few years of models had the "Big Black Box" of mystery transmission. They then switched to the Hagen transmission that was also in other AATVs such as the Trisport, Newt The Bold, and Trailblazer just to name a few. They were powered by single cylinder Tecumseh HH series engines and a cool feature is that they had an optional propeller in the rear for faster water speeds. The colors available that I know of were yellow, red, camo/beige, and robin's egg blue. Can you tell us a little more about yours and post some pics? Welcome to the site!

I got it from the original family and I believe it is a 69' - the very particular owner barely used it and stored it in his heated garage year around-

Wow.... that's about the nicest looking one I think I've seen. This one looks like it has the Big Black Box transmission; is that right?

Congrats on the purchase. I'd love to see some action video.

I totally agree! Please keep it completely original. Painting, modifying, cutting, bolting any crap on to this machine would be a sin. Great find there. You may want to find another machine for the trails though. That machine belongs in a museum not out in the woods getting beat on.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

I believe it does have the big black box- the model number is R100A1000A and serial number is 2168 if that helps for tranny- someone stated it was made in wisconsin but everything on it says forest lake, minnesota-not familiar with the mechanicals at all though- I stumbled onto it looking for an Argo for up at my cabin- I was thinking the same thing about using it actually, seems way too nice to not preserve as is- might keep looking for an Argo and send the Muscateer packing-

I second the museum idea...and it just so happens that there is such a place......and the owner of that place has access to many machines, perhaps he would be interested in a trade on something modern and more durable/replaceable. It never hurts to ask.

Wow...that's an amazingly sharp looking Muscateer.

It has the black box transmission I can tell by the pedals and controls and lack of hagen below the center of the two seats.

I agree if there is away to get that into a museum it should be it is that good!

I happen to have a Muscateer and I"m going all out on build/modify mine.

The kids do love these machines that's for sure. I took mine to a car show and allowed kids to sit in it and get pics taken, parents and kids loved it alike.

                          Again wonderful machine!

Can you scan your manuals or are they the same? I'd love a copy in scanned format if you have something different than what is on the site!!! I take mine to car shows...kids love it and I display some info on it as best I can
