  • 4 Bolt Wheel Flanges & Seals

I got a little technical question may be someone can help, On my wheel flanges I replaced the outside inner seal (one that rides on the shaft with spring) and I was wondering if anyone has had flanges with a white plastic (UHMW) ring also inside the the flange that the shaft slides thru?? I was wondering if it would ride against the outer seal which would allow all for the grease from the zert to go towards the frame and the sealed bearing not touching the seal or should they be all the way at the edge of the flange where they would ride against the lip of the bearing and would allow all the grease to be inbetween the seal and the plastic ring. Any info would help. Oh yeah this is on the sears sporster that I am restoring.

    seals

Amphicats used to they were about 3/16" thick, it kept the seal from collapsing in..and kept the grease at the seal lip
