I was at the Barrett Jackson classic car auction in Palm Beach, Florida over the weekend. The Quadski amphibious vehicle was there so I got to see it first hand and get a walk-around video. It looks like a well built and well engineered vehicle. I doubt it is very capable off-road but I think on-water performance is probably close to a jet ski. It has a very unique drop down drive shaft, where a CV shaft comes in to the suspension a-arm near the top of the tire and then drops to the center of the wheel with some type of gear sets (see video). Looks like it has good suspension and the wheels fold up into the body when in water. Nice looking jet pump in the rear. I didn't get to see the engine but he said it was a 4-cylinder BMW. Retail price is $43,000. I hope to try one of these out someday and give it a real review.
Argo was also there with two vehicles in a nice display. The whole auction was very crowded so they got plenty of exposure.
