  • Swamp Fox Info

Just picked up a swamp fox a few weeks ago which I thought would be a fun project. Im having trouble loading a picture but I will keep trying. I know its not a super swamp fox but the color of it is red and white. Trying to figure out what year it is and how much it is worth. It is all there, has a Briggs engine on it but the exhaust valve was frozen. I already fixed that and am close to getting it running. Not sure if I wanna hang on to it or let it go yet. Any info would be great. Thanks

Putting value on these machine is a bit tough. A perfect machine with a reliable V-twin, great (new) chains, bearings and axles, great tires and a proven T-20 might bring a couple thousand dollars. The Foxes are heavy machines and really need a bit of power to pull them through the muck. I don't think the Briggs engine in yours is original, but if it's been retrofitted well there's no saying it's a downside from a value standpoint. The largest tire you can safely fit on a standard Swamp Fox is a 22" diameter, I believe. This keeps you down to an 8" wheel. What tires are on it now?

We also don't have a great hold on the actual years they were made, but I think your Swamp Fox can be placed in the mid-late 1970s. Some machine still have a serial number plate on them, but we don't have a reference to lock in what years the numbers apply to.
