I can't take credit for the powder coating, my good friends at Powderskinz.com do a great job. I was actually thinking black for the body. Any thoughts?
-
Looking incredible! You did that?
What colour will the body be? (Guessing yellow? :P)

I've seen those 2 before. Not a lot of resources out there on these thingsOriginally posted by Murph View PostHi Maki Man,
There are two articles posted by DailyTurismo,
One was from a classified ad:
Daily Turismo: 5k: 1974 Maki Amphibious Car
The other with 'Kirk' supplying more info. Sort of like a follow-up:
Daily Turismo: Maki Some Noise: Follow-up on a Unique and Rare Breed
Thanks,
Murph

Hey murph, thanks for the reply. I have had some emails with Kirk, and he is very helpful. I'm just curious, what article do you have?Originally posted by Murph View PostVery cool vehicle, Maki Man!
I love this vehicle. I have talked to a guy named 'Kirk', and he owns 2 or 3 of these vehicles, and has a YouTube channel, 'Maki M28'.
I don't know too much about the vehicle (and this may be false information), but what I've found...
-There were approx. 600 made in the early 70's ('72-'74?)
-Manufactured in Quebec (Just outside of Drummondville) by FCM Ltee.
-Assembled & Sold in Saint John, NB.
-It will top out at about 65-70 mph (105-115 kph)
I have his e-mail address (and an article on it), if you'd like it, just send me a private message.
Thanks,
Murph.

Damn that's neat, love one of those to bomb around the road with. Apparently it's only 2wd from what I watched on video.
Good luck with the build can't wait to see more.

That is cool looking, would make for a nice little machine to poke around the neighborhood in.
