Steve... It all depends on how far you are going.. on the work.. if you are just replacing a motor then that won't be too bad.. I'm down to the tub... everything is coming apart.. cause it's 44 years old.. Got the empty tub turned over and it's bad.. So I'm going to replace the whole bottom.. bow to stern. and I need to reinforce the sides where the hubs attach. Others have had to do this too. The bottom of the tub takes a Sh**t kick'n and mine is thin from rust too. So I'm off to find a source for 18 ga sheet metal.

Aside from the new motor ..what are your plans ? I bought a full sheet of 16 gauge steel. 1/16" thick. If you take a piece a foot square of the 18gauge factory tub metal.. you can bend it in your hands. Not so with the 16 gauge.. So I should have a much stronger tub bottom. And I don't think it weighs a lot more.

How much was the sheet of 16ga?
I just wanted to get mine moving and worry about the tub later

The sheet is $60. Cdn from our sheet metal shop. I'll have enough to make a battery tray, a piece to make a floor between the frame under your legs.. and it's good for gussets , light mounts..

Wow nice tear down Rob, looks like it's going to be another project alright.

Hope its not too bad. I sure do like that it's 4wd is there a differential in front or rear or just locked?

Kinda find these Terra Jets pretty neat.

I watched some vids of one on tracks with ATV/UTV style bolt on tracks seemed ok, not quite wide enough though IMO.

Keep us posted and ifn I can dig up or help locate anything let me know.

Yup straight through axle.. so it's locked.. chain goes front to back.. all four wheels turn . simple.. The axles are 1-1/4 " Big ! bending or breaking one would be hard. The rims are 12" so you can use quad tires.. The ones I got came with new rubber.. Something I did not have with the Bazooo.
