  • Gotcha monster

Ok after 2 years I finally finished my gotcha project. Started with a max II frame cut down to fit the body. T20 and a 18hp vanguard. Took and made a mold to make the hood and fitted it with max II headlights. A good friend named it the Gotcha Monster. A big thanks goes out to my wife for the idea of doing the headlights, and to hydromike for advice on doing the fiberglass

Hey man, my 'glass work doesn't compete with what you did with this. I just dove in head-first and made a hacked up an engine cover or two. The fiberglass on the Monsta' is perfect. The paint job is good enough to warrant keeping this thing on the shelf.

I've watched Tom put this together over the course of the last couple years, and was continually impressed with his attention to detail. I don't know what meds he's on, but they allow him to spend an entire week on a front bumper, for example. The results warrant the high dosage, I suppose.

The frame isn't just "cut down..." It was a ton of work, and he spent a lot of time working out the details and planning ahead so that it came together perfectly and is a breeze to operate and maintain. After two years, you're light years further than I am on the Newt, but I'm gettin' along....

Nice work... I'm glad I don't have to keep my trap shut any more....

Thanks Mike, You of all people know how many beers it took to build this one. I just hope it doesn't take as many to finish the racer. Can't wait for both of us to show our projects at ash.

Awesome job. The bodywork alone is a work of art.

Very nice Tom. That's some pretty sweet work to keep under wraps for 2 years. I'm just as impressed with your ability to keep the progress a secret for so long.

This was my first gotcha. Not my t20d one I'm building, but the one I had before that. I'd like it back now, and I will fully refund the purchase price of the machine. Very nice Tom, and very motivational for me to get back to business on mine.

Nice job Tom and Athena. Is this built for showin or for goin?
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.

Truly amazing, Tom! I'd be afraid to get it dirty. I always thought the gold 'flake bodies on the Got'chas was cool, but that blue is perfect for the machine. Very nice job!
