  • What Transmission does the Bazooo use???

    Hi Guys

Looking at a Bazooo for sale and it all seems to be there but some dumbass has been playing with the Electrics for the engine so ive been told it's a non runner.
    So my question is
Is there a way of checking the transmission is working correctly without driving it?
    What type is the transmission?
Just any info at all on them would be a great help to me =D

Once and if I buy it I will be posting up photos for all to see

    Regards
    Tom

Check out Bazoo Guy's gallery, Tom. I don't know much about the system, but here are some photos of an operational unit..

I've restored a Bazoo.. and the Terra Jet I'm working on has the same trans.. They are built tough.. and that's a good thing, cause you will never get parts. It's a simple shift.. if you can spin the secondary sheave then just move the shift leaver and watch the output gear. here's a few photos..

Hope this helps.. check out my Bazoo post in my blog.. link in my signature

        Thanks guys
I've seen your page before it's an amazing restoration you did on your Bazoo Robeye
The Bazoo im looking at is on eBay here in England and it's just a little to far gone for my skills to repair sadly but I just wondered in case I brought it and that was one of the problems
So who made the trans Robeye do you know?

Both the Bazoo and the Terra Jet were made in Canada.. The Trans in the Bazoo says BOYLES on it. The Terra Jet has no markings. But they are identical. And there is no info on BOYLES.. So ?? The Bazoo was a flash in the pan as far as AATV's go.. And Terra Jet went to a new trans two years into production.. So these are rare.. 1970 - 1972.. it seams. The only thing that could kill those would be a broken case. Hard to imagine that given how thick the casting is. Most report a badly worn sifter.. and that is repairable by building the guide back up with a welder and grinding it to fit again. I did that to mine and it shifts like new again.

          This was the Bazoo trans..
