Well, I saw the Wedge just sitting in the driveway this morning and started thinking about getting it finished and useful. The Briggs conversion still has some bugs with it and the transmission is still locked into forward only so even moving it around is a pain.
I'm thinking of intalling my old Amphicat Borg Warner transmission into it or a Baker Hill without reverse from an Attex 208tt. How about some opinions on which route to take? A T-20 is out of the picture due to $$ and I don't want to change from the #40 chain to #50.
Either way, I need to retain the steering wheel.

When I put the t-20 in my Scrambler; I went with #50 chain to the jack shafts and kept the 40's on everything else. I have a JLO 400 in it. Ran it at Philipsburg last year and didn't brake any of the #40 chain.Last edited by Joe M; 03-13-2009, 07:11 PM.

I'm not quite sure what you meant by that.
One of the unique features of the Wedge is the steering wheel. One of the major design flaws of the Wedge is the transmission.
I'm leaning toward using the Amphicat trans, because of the reverse. Is there any advantages to using the baker hill instead?
I've ruled out the T-20 due to $$, physical size and sprockets.

wedges
there was no design flaw, just the operators.... There is even a brake on the secondary clutch too..to stop the belt, to shift. non maintainance, "slam the gears" takes it's toll on any transmission.....
Any way, seems you'll might want to go with the amphicat/borg warner and switch to sticks, seems the logical solution.....reverse, smooth operation etc
Have you concidered the motor to final drive ratio's?
