clutch doesn't disengage when turning motor stalls

Old Argo scrambler with a 8hp brigs
as long as I go straight no problems
if I'm in water no problems
but if I go to turn on ground the clutch doesn't disengage and the motor stalls out..Whats wrong?
how can it be fixed
I'm a mew member and a new owner of the antique
I remember these from my childhood always wanted one now help me enjoy the one I just got...PLEASE

Hi, seems your hydralics need bleeding. did you ever bleed brakes on a car? in scrambler(action age) there is a reservoir under the dash, fill it with auto transmission fluid and bleed the system, there should be 2 "bleeders" with caps on them by the turning/brake calipers on the main drive.. Is it one side or both?
