found a roughrider in the woods last night, gonna trade the guy a mower for it. i'll probably steal the wheels and tires and throw it on ebay. anyone know anything about these? the drive setup looks really simple. how long were they made? i'll post up some pics tomorrow when i get it home

with the exception of the seat it looks to be all there, and a seat would be easy to build. the fiberglass could use some work (sand down, fix a few spots and paint). driveline would need a full rebuild. the single cylinder jlo has compression. it could deffinitly be rebuilt, probably with less work than my attex project. it's not a machine that i want to tackle, but i'll rescue it from behind this hillbilly's barn. i'd rather see it go to use somewhere than sit where it is for another 15 years!

amphiman, Matt O and Lewis have both expressed an interest in the machine, so i'm going to offer it to people in the order of requests. i certainly would like to see it go to someone on the site rather than a random ebay sale.

just went and got the machine. looks like someone tried to use some heavy duty stripper on the fiberglass. the gelcoat is bubbled up real bad and the plastic gas tank filler is melted. it would take a lot of sanding to fix but the body looks to all be in tact other than the gel. one of the steering cables is trashed, but i think they are the same as the throttle cable we use on the race cars. i'll swipe an old one from work tomorrow and check it out. otherwise it looks like the typical aatv that's been sitting behind a shed for years. rusty! here are the pics i was able to get before it got too dark
