I didnt open the trans yet but it uses bands with friction material on them to steer.
Must be a limited slip that drives the opposite side when one side is stopped.
Has Fwd ,Neutral and reverse. The steering is linked to the bands with small chains.
Brakes are a hand lever with cable to a single disk on the trans.

Hey there, I’m new. Nice to meet everyone, I’m going to look at a 62 skippy tomorrow and have been told by the seller that it has one cracked spider gear in the transmission. I was looking at the pics posted of the transmission and it has me worried about finding parts like that. Any idea what gears the skippy used back in the day. I’m assuming they were built with available parts not ones they manufactured themselves. Thx
