My buggy has 6 motors and a double lined tub. The farmer that bought it was doing work on the Texas coast after Hurricane Ike, but only put about 60 hours on it. I am not sure if I have a bigger pump...would have to compare model numbers. The hose configuration is complicated, but if you get into this project I can send you a picture of mine...the middle motors are a little hard to see under the seat, but it may give you an idea on how mine is plumbed. I have a manual...not much in it but general information and a detail manual on the Kubota motor. Would be happy to email it to you...I think I can do it through this site, but not sure. I don't want to hang my email address out on a public site.

Good Evening Bscout just wondering if your Hydro Traxx had 6 wheel motors? I have a TJ625 and was wondering if I could add a couple of wheel motors for the centre wheels, as I only have the 4 corner wheel motors. Would the Hydraulic Pump be able to handle two more motors,and how would i run the hoses ,would i just hook the one side in a row.Any idea of where a person could get a manual. Thank You Steve

Hey Alberta...I lived in Calgary for a few years...would ski at COP after work and loved hunting Canada's on the wheat fields. Glad you figured out the reservoir...I actually have a manual for mine and I recall it saying you need to keep the reservoir fluid level above the "baffle"...you can see it just a couple of inches below the cap in the back reservoir. Also use AW46 or an equivalent hydraulic fluid...it is made for this type of application...compression, temperature and water. I did change my filter and drain the fluid once. To get the air out of the system you need to jack up your buggy...all wheels off the ground, engage the motors, and run backwards and forward at slow RPM's until you don't see any bubbles in your clear return hoses. I run my machine between 2500 and 3000 RPM.s depending on weight and terrain, and just use the sticks to control speed. One of the complaints about the Hydrotraxx is it goes too slow, but slow and not getting stuck is what works for me. It took me forever to figure out all this stuff. Hope this helps.

Hi Steve,

Chances are, if you can't find two more hydraulic wheel motors for the center positions you will most likely have to get tracks for it if you want to sell it because most people won't want to buy it if only the corners are providing the traction, unless you sell it low enough so that whoever buys it can either source out the two additional wheel motors or track. Good Evening Marauder yes it has the smaller wheels to run tracks, when i got the machine I was getting the tracks also,but someone stole them . I am looking to build a set for it if the machine does not sell. Thanks Steve

It sounds like your machines are set up to run tracks, usually only the corner motors are used when tracks are installed. Did your vehicles come with tracks?

Marauder that is some sound logic that escaped me! Otherwise, well..... the irony of such a big strong rugged machine limited to lawn and garden duties is just to much to handle.

Good Evening just wondering if your machine has all 6 wheels powered with a hydraulic wheel motors, I have a Hydro Traxx TJ625 and it has only 4 wheel motors,one on each corner. Would you know if I could add two more wheel motors, looks like the frame has all the holes drilled to take the wheel motors.I am also wondering if the previous owner may have taken them off ,to use as replacements. I run my engine at full throttle when using the machine.You are right about not alot of information available for these machines. Thanks Steve

Does the front two motors or rear two motors power the center wheels? I thought these things had no chains!

Mine only has 4 as well. I was told this is standard on these units. Apparently the motors are pretty pricey at around $500 / each.

I’ve been running it at less than 1/2 throttle so far. I suspect the tach is lying because at 1/4 throttle it’s pushing 3000 rpm...being that it’s a diesel I don’t want to red line it lol. Going to check out the tach tomorrow and go from there

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It turns out the rad at the back is also the tank. It was 3/4 of a gal low so I topped it up with a Lucas hydraulic additive. The problem seems to be fixed now.

I’ll see if I can figure out how to get a picture on here.

In tractors we've seen the relief valve spring weaken and even break, also if the machine is designed to be run constant full throttle and your not, well.
