  • Canadian amphicat

Hey everyone, I have what I believe is a 1969 canadian made amphicat. It would make sense as I'm in canada, and it has the original dealer sticker, unfortuantly the original amphicat sticker with the serial is worn off . Im looking for a manual as it's different enough from the us version that I'm noticing differences. Some of the things I've noticed that are different so far are:
    -frame
-sachs 290(297cc) with a completely different mounting system
-2 speed transmission has no sight plug for chain adjustment, and has a grease nipple instead of a fill/drain plug
    -inner axle bearings
    -battery mounting location

I'm sure there is more I will find the further I dig in.

This is a project that I had intended on putting a 13hp 4 stroke in but realizing I have the "weakest" amphicat trans and lack of space(installing a flat engine cover once complete), I'm going to go with a 7-9hp as I have no intentions on abusing it.

If you're still looking at an engine replacement I highly recommend going with an 18 HP Duromax engine. They are easy to install and are the best bang for the buck in my opinion.
