  • Scrambler Steering

    Hey Guys

Ive been working on my scrambler every night this week. It should be done by Christmas! But i have a question. With my scramblers steering the is the bottle of tranny fluid that acts as the reservoir. When i turn the steering wheel i can feel air coming out of the tubes at each end, but its not pulling fluid up out of the reservoir. I noticed that at the end of the two hoses there are the two tubes that bolt on to the steering. There are grease fittings on those. Do you use those to fill the tubes. Or to like bleed them out?

I know its confusing i tried my best to explain it.

    Any help would be fantastic

    Thanks Fellas!

    scrambler steering

If it has hydraulic steering, those may look like grease fittings, but they are actually bleeder screws. Work the steering levers until there is a little bit of resistance, and then loosen the bleeders to get the air out. [Just like bleeding brakes].

The grease fitting is actually set up to pressure fill from that point.

I use a small palm style grease gun filled with trans fluid and pump it from the trans and brake cylinders back to the steering pistons and back fill the reservoir.

        Alright Fellas Heres the deal:

I can blead out the brakes just fine by holding the bearing down until fluid comes out. I let this go for a while till all i got was fluid. So Were good right? WRONG! As soon as i let the bearing go down you can see all the fluid go back into bottle right by the steering wheel. So There must be a leak somewere can you guys give me some ideas on were to check for leaks?

        Thanks!
