  • More Wedge Frustrations

    Hello
I am STILL disassembling this Wedge of mine. The biggest problem I can foresee is going to be the axles. I have been soaking the wheel lugs in PB Blaster for a few days but the rust is so severe that the studs will likely break off. Im pretty sure that the axles, bearings, and flanges are fused together and I fear that I will destroy what's left of them trying to get them out.

Are there any options for replacing axles and hubs short of finding a machinist that can reproduce them? Will axles from any other machines work?

The rust on this thing defies belief.

The Wedge has to have been the single worst engineered device ever conceived by humans.

    Thanks!

There are 3 for sale in "aatv's forsale" hint hint. they even come with a few boxes of nos bearings too. Inners and outers.
Usually, you'll have to cut the hubs to get the axles/bearings off.and sometimes, cut bearings off too
