AMPHICAT : need help on what to look for asap please

planning on going to go look at this AMPHICAT that has been sitting for 12 years and from original owners. was told it started right up but no guarentee that it would float. we were planning to get this to take the kids for rides in the back yard and to cruise the shoreline fishing on the lake we live on. what shopuld i be looking for as far as issues with the machine ? also what would be a fair price for the 6x6. is it a pretty reliable machine ? any and all info aprieciated, and great forum glad i found it

I read the ad for this machine. In my opinion, his asking price is too high. The cover over the engine appears to be home made. Are you close enough to see it in person?

I have had several, as well as attex,max,argo....The price seems about right, if it isn't all hacked up.... i saw one go at auction for 2500.00.it was very decent too
They are low maintinance, will take a beating and last a very long time....

ya going this week-end to take a look..will take a few pics i did get the price down to $950 from $1500 so we will see if its worth that or not wiill let you all know..
