  • What lenght belt

Trying to find the right lenght belt. My primary clutch is 7", the secondary is 10". Bolt to bolt is 16". I went to NAPA. They said I needed a length of 36" however, when I took a measurement around both clutches it is 52". Can Anyone tell me if this sounds correct, doesnt seem right to me.

    Hey Tattoo,

What make/model is your machine?? If it is stock configuration, someone here might have a part # for you.

In the absence of that, it is trial and error, that I am still going through. But the belt must slip over the clutch to slip on, so 36" sounds pretty short. The brain trust here recommends approximately 1" deflection of the belt when it is installed.
    Hammers should have warning labels.

        belt length

As I was going throuhg the forums, I see that some guys raise ther power plant to get them to fit in thier machines. My problem is that the oilfilter is in the front. If I don't keep the motor back I will not be able to change the filter. This is why I need such a long belt.
